Leprosy can affect male or female, young and old. Leprosy caused by Mycobacterium leprae that attacks the peripheral nerves, skin and other body tissues. Leprosy is divided into two types: wet and dry lepra.
Modes of transmission of leprosy (Lepra)
Leprosy can be transmitted from the patient directly, but it is not certain means of transmission. The experts argue that, leprosy transmission can occur through breathing. But do not worry, usually, leprosy will be infected after contact long enough. Instead, a leper immediately get help from the medical, the methods used to treat leprosy sufferers usually with Multiple Drugs Therapy (MDT) in accordance with the classification of the disease.
Symptoms of leprosy
Symptoms caused by leprosy can be divided into two groups.
1. Absolute Symptoms
usually, a leper will experience symptoms such as skin mottled reddish white, the skin can not feel anything, thickening of peripheral nerves, peripheral nerve dysfunction, muscular arms and legs become weak and weakened eye muscles also.
2. Other symptoms
In addition to the above symptoms, people with leprosy will also experience symptoms such as skin allergies suddenly, swollen skin and thick, mostly occur on the face and ears.
